Plymouth Gin

Plymouth Gin, distilled since 1793 at England’s historic Black Friars Distillery, holds a storied place in maritime tradition. Notably, the Royal Navy once presented newly commissioned vessels with a “Plymouth Gin Commissioning Kit”—a wooden case containing two bottles of Navy Strength Plymouth Gin and glassware.

For this redesign, I sought to honor that legacy by reimagining the Navy Strength edition with a historically inspired approach. I recreated the original bottle shape and developed special edition packaging, including wooden barrels and crates, to evoke the era's authenticity.

To highlight the traditional botanicals used in Plymouth Gin, I wrapped the True Original bottle with detailed illustrations of the plants integral to its recipe. This visual storytelling bridges the brand's rich history with a contemporary audience, celebrating its enduring craftsmanship.
