With Gratitude

At Airbnb, it’s tradition to end the year with gestures of appreciation and reflection. Historically, this took the form of classic holiday parties. But in 2017, we reimagined the experience. Rather than a single night of celebration, we created something more aligned with Airbnb’s values—something lasting, meaningful, and globally resonant.

As the Creative Director on this initiative, I collaborated with an illustrator and the Ground Control team to reframe the holiday season into a global “With Gratitude” campaign. I created a visual system rooted in generosity, culture, and belonging—brought to life through five core illustrations focused on how we show gratitude to ourselves and each other.

This work helped shift Airbnb’s year-end celebration into something more intentional and inclusive—an experience that transcends a one-time event and instead reinforces company values through art, storytelling, and shared rituals across cultures.
